                  JPMORGAN FLEMING INDIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION


JPMorgan Fleming Indian Investment Trust plc announces that, on 19 December
2002, in the market they purchased for cancellation 1,900,000 ordinary shares at
56.25p per share representing 2.59% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The number of shares repurchased under the current authority now totals
6,675,000.

The remaining shares in issue following this repurchase total 71,394,792.
