                                 ISSUE OF SHARES

JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, Wednesday 7th
December 2005, it issued 500,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at
228.50 pence per share representing 0.51% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 1,350,000.  A
further 8,304,036 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the EGM held on 1st November 2005.

The shares in issue following this notification are 98,015,392.
