                                 ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Fleming Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, 21st October
2005, it issued 25,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 196.50 pence
per share representing 0.03% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 5,914,000.  A
further 3,107,136 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the EGM held on 22nd March 2005.

The shares in issue following this notification are 96,565,392.
