                                ISSUE OF SHARES



JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, Thursday 19th January
2006, it issued 550,000 ordinary shares to two market participants at 246.25
pence per share representing 0.55% of the ordinary shares in issue.


The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 3,675,000.  A
further 5,979,036 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the EGM held on 1st November 2005.


The shares in issue following this notification are 100,340,392.
