                      JPMORGAN INDIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                                  ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Indian Investment Trust plc announces that today, Wednesday 26th April
2006, it issued 50,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 295.5 pence
per share representing 0.05% of the ordinary shares in issue.

It is expected that the new ordinary shares will be admitted to listing on the
Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to trading on the main market of
the London Stock Exchange on Monday 2nd May 2006.

The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 4,571,270.  A
further 6,060,670 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the AGM held on 24th January 2006.

The shares in issue following this notification are 104,911,662.
