                     JPMORGAN OVERSEAS INVESTMENT TRUST PLC


                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION


JPMorgan Overseas Investment Trust plc announces that today in the market it
purchased for cancellation 13,000 ordinary shares at 600.75p per share,
representing a total of 0.04% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The current repurchase authority for 5,005,977 shares was approved by
shareholders at the Company's 2006 Annual General Meeting. To date 10,000 shares
have been repurchased under this authority.

The remaining ordinary shares in issue following this repurchase totals
33,372,448.
