The Board of The Fleming Emerging Markets Investment
Trusts plc are pleased to announce the appointment
of Mr Roy Reynolds as a non executive Director of
the Company with effect from 16 December 1999

Mr Reynolds is a Director if Lasmo plc and  was
previously the Chief Executive of the Commonwealth
Development Corporation.

There are no disclosures required to be made under
paragraph 16.4 of the London Stock Exchange listing
