            Results For the Year Ended 30th June, 1999

The  Fleming  Emerging  Markets  Investment  Trust  plc  today
announced its results for the year ended 30th June, 1999.

The net asset value per share increased by 17.1% over the year
compared  to  an  increase  in the benchmark  index,  the  IFC
Emerging Markets Composite Index in sterling, of 33.9%.

There was a revenue deficit and thus no dividend is payable.
