VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL

JPMORGAN CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

In conformity with the Transparency Directive we would like to notify the market of the following:

As at 29th May 2009 (being the last business day of the month) JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc's capital consisted of 75,541,461 ordinary 25 pence shares, carrying one vote each and 14,136,407 subscription shares of 1 pence each with no voting rights. The Company holds 4,329,000 ordinary shares in Treasury. Therefore as at 29th May 2009, the total number of voting rights in JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc is 71,212,461.

The above figure (71,212,461) may be used by shareholders as the denominator for the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify their interest in, or a change to, their interest in JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc under the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules.
