                                ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that today, Monday 5th
December 2005, it issued 75,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 76.50
pence per share representing 0.11% of the ordinary shares in issue.

The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 2,910,000.  A
further 3,698,700 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the AGM in 2004.

The outstanding shares in issue following this notification are 68,997,001.
