                                ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that today, Monday 7th
March 2005, it issued 50,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at 63.5
pence per share representing 0.07% of the ordinary shares in issue.


The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 700,000.  A
further 5,908,700 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the AGM in 2004.


The outstanding shares in issue following this notification are 66,787,001.
