                                 ISSUE OF SHARES


JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that today, Wednesday
5th October 2005, it issued 50,000 ordinary shares to a market participant at
75.00 pence per share representing 0.07% of the ordinary shares in issue.


The number of shares issued under the current authority totals 2,375,000.  A
further 4,233,700 shares are available for issue under the authority granted at
the AGM in 2004.


The outstanding shares in issue following this notification are 68,462,001.
