Appointment of New Director

The Board of JPMorgan Chinese Investment Trust plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Oscar Wong as an independent non-executive Director ('NED') of the Company with effect from 1st August 2014.

Mr Wong has over 35 years experience in the investment industry, including 15 years of senior positions at Board level in various investment management companies. 

He is currently non-executive Director of two Growth Enterprise Market listed companies in Hong Kong, and is serving as an independent non-executive Director of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited and Ping An Insurance Group.  In addition, he is Chairman and NED of China Bio-Med Regeneration Technology Limited and NED of Credit China Holdings.  

His previous appointments include over 21 years at LGT Asset Management, Deputy Chief Executive of INVESCO Asia Limited, Regional Managing Director at Prudential Portfolio Managers Asia, and Chief Executive of BOCI-Prudential Asset Management Limited and ICBC (Asia) Investment Management Company Limited.  He was also formerly a NED of One Asset Management Limited, ARN Asian Enterprise Fund, ARN Investment SICAV and Executive Director of LW Asset Management Advisors Limited.

Mr Wong studied Marketing at HK Polytechnic and graduated in 1977 with a Higher Diploma in Business Studies.

There is no further information to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13 R (2) to (6).
