New Director

The Board of JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc are pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr Edward Wu as a non-executive Director with
immediate effect.

Edward Wu was born in Hong Kong and has considerable knowledge of the Far East
and has been involved in businesses in China since 1980.  He is a former
Managing Director of Baring Brothers and Wu, a joint venture with Barings formed
to develop and manage investment opportunities in China, and a former Director
of Giordano International.  In 1985 Mr Wu formed his own consulting practice,
New China Venture Consultants and has also been a consultant to the Portman
Organisation since 2002.

In accordance with paragraph 16.4 of the FSA Listing Rules a further disclosure
will be made within 14 days.
