                 JPMORGAN FLEMING CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

                       LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

 This announcement replaces that which was released on 16th January 2004, under
    RNS number 3370U.  The previous announcement stated that shares would be
  allotted to investors on an as and when basis and did not specify that these 
  shares will also be available to members of the JPMorgan Fleming Share Plan, 
ISA/PEP and Pension account holders and to other regular  investors.  All other 
                           details remain the same.


JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc (the 'Company') announces that an
application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for a block listing of
2,500,000 ordinary shares of 25p each. The shares will rank pari passu with the
Company's existing ordinary shares of 25p each and will be allotted to members
of the JPMorgan Fleming Chinese Share Plan, ISA/PEP and Pension account holders
and to other regular  investors.
