AGM STATEMENT

JPMORGAN CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

16TH DECEMBER 2008

Following the Annual General Meeting of the Company, which was held today, the Board is pleased to announce that all of the ordinary resolutions put to shareholders were passed. In addition, two items of special business were passed which:

i.                                              will allow the Company to make market purchases of up to 11,311,753 ordinary shares and 2,119,047 subscription shares, representing 14.99% of the issued share capital of the relevant share class.

 

ii.                                            will allow the Company to dissapply pre-emption rights on the sale of shares out of Treasury.
