                      LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT





                   THE FLEMING CHINESE INVESTMENT TRUST PLC







The Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc announces that at the Company's
Annual General Meeting held today, shareholders passed Special Resolutions
authorising the Company to make market purchases of up to 14.99% of its issued
share capital for cancellation and changing the Company's name to 'JPMorgan
Fleming Chinese Investment Trust plc'.



The change of company name will become effective on the issue of the
certificate of incorporation on change of name by The Registrar of Companies
and a further announcement will follow in this respect.
