LONDON STOCK EXCHANGE ANNOUNCEMENT

JPMORGAN ASIAN INVESTMENT TRUST PLC

The Board of JPMorgan Asian Investment Trust plc ("the Company") announces the appointment of Ayaz Ebrahim, as joint fund manager of the Company, alongside Richard Titherington.

Ayaz, a Managing Director at JPMorgan Asset Management ('JPMAM') and based in Hong Kong, is a highly experienced portfolio manager who heads the Asia Pacific Core Team and chairs the Asset Allocation Committee within the Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific (EMAP) Equities team at JPMAM. Before joining JPMAM in September 2015, Ayaz was with Amundi Hong Kong where he spent more than five years as the CIO of Asia ex-Japan equities and Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO).  Prior to that Ayaz was the CIO, Asia Pacific, for both HSBC Global Asset Management and Deutsche Asset Management. From 1991 to 2002, he worked at Crédit Agricole Asset Management Hong Kong (now named Amundi Hong Kong Limited), initially as an investment manager and subsequently as CIO for Asia. Ayaz holds a Doctorate degree in Civil Law (DCL) and a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Accountancy from the University of East Anglia in the United Kingdom.

Sonia Yu, one of the Company's previous investment managers, has left JPMAM to pursue other employment interests.  The Board is grateful for her contribution over the past three years.
