JPMorgan Asian Investment Trust plc (the 'Company')

Allotment of Subscription Shares

Further to recent announcements, the Board of Directors of the Company announces that it has today allotted 32,001,430 Subscription Shares.

Application has been made for admission of such Subscription Shares to the Official List and to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange. Dealings in these Subscription Shares are expected to commence on 5 February 2009. 

Following admission of the Subscription Shares there will be 160,007,154 Ordinary Shares and 32,001,430 Subscription Shares in issue.

The Subscription Shares will trade under the code 'JAIS' from 5 February 2009.
