                 REPURCHASE OF ORDINARY SHARES FOR CANCELLATION


JPMorgan Fleming American Investment Trust plc announces that on Tuesday 8th
April in the market it purchased for cancellation the following:

128,425 ordinary shares at 466p per share representing a total of 0.22% of the
ordinary shares in issue;

Under the current authority 4,064,525 shares have been repurchased under this
authority.

The remaining shares in issue following the above repurchases is 57,105,138.
