It is with deep regret that the Board of JPMorgan Fleming American Investment
Trust plc has learned of the death of Roger Palmer on 6th March 2004. Mr. Palmer
had been a Director of the Company since February 1998 during which time he made
a valuable contribution.  The Board will miss his wise counsel.
