1 SHARE REPURCHASE

Please be advised of the following repurchase by JMH of its ordinary shares in
the market:-
Date of repurchase:                                  23 November 2000
Total number of shares repurchased:                  15,104,008 shares
Price paid per share:                                US$5.8876

The repurchase of shares is in compliance with the regulations set out in the
share repurchase code applicable to the Company as required by the UK Listing
Authority.

2 SUBSTANTIAL SHAREHOLDER

Following the above repurchase and the completion of the cancellation in due
course by JMH of the relevant repurchased shares, Jardine Strategic Holdings
Limited's ('JSH') interest in JMH will decrease from 52.37% to 51.23%. JSH's
interest is made up as follows:-
