Block admission applications

Applications have been made for block admissions to trading on AIM for 172,500
10p ordinary shares in James Halstead plc in respect of the James Halstead Group
Executive Share Option Scheme (1986) and for 500,000 10p ordinary shares in
James Halstead plc in respect of the James Halstead Group Share Option Plan
(1998).


It is expected that the applications will be granted on 14 October 2003.
