Jupiter Second Enhanced Income Trust plc announces that Jupiter Asset Management
Limited (`Jupiter') has a notifiable interest in 4,706,893 Geared Income shares,
being 7.49 per cent. of the total Geared Income shares in issue and 3,004,535
Zero Dividend Preference shares, being 4.78 % of the total Zero Dividend
Preference shares.  This amounts to 6.14 per cent of the total voting rights of
the Company.  These shares are held on behalf of participants in the Jupiter
Investment Trust savings products.  Jupiter has a notifiable interest in these
shares because, in certain circumstances and subject to certain limitations
agreed with the Takeover Panel to ensure compliance with the Takeover Code,
Jupiter is entitled to exercise the voting rights attached to these shares if
the relevant plan participants do not do so.
