                           Director's shareholding


The Company has today been informed that on 1 October 2001, the N D Buch Life
Interest Settlement acquired 20,000 shares in the Company (equivalent to 0.27
per cent. of the Company's share capital) at a price of 49p per share.



In addition, on 1 October 2001, the N D Buch Life Interest Settlement
acquired, and the N D Buch Childrens Settlement sold, 44,500 shares in the
Company (equivalent to 0.60 per cent. of the Company's share capital) at a
price of 50p per share.



Following these transactions, N D Buch's interest in the Company's share
capital amounts to 1,659,500 shares (equivalent to 22.37 per cent. of the
Company's share capital).
