Mercury Recycling Group plc announces that it was today informed that Mr
Jonathan Howard Lyons purchased 955,572 shares in the Company on 12 March 2002.
Mr Lyons was then interested in 1,408,001 shares, representing approximately 5.6
per cent. of the issued share capital.  Mr Lyons has today gifted these shares
to The Blueberry Charitable Trust and no longer has an interest in the Company's
shares.
