Statement re Charter of the Ferry "Bilbao&...

Irish Continental Group plc ( " ICG" ) notes speculation regarding the ferry
"Bilbao" (formerly "Pride of Bilbao" )  which has recently completed a 17 year
charter to P&O European Ferries.

ICG confirms that it is in advanced discussions regarding a long term charter
and / or sale of the vessel with an interested party but no agreement has yet
been finalised by the respective Boards of Directors of ICG or the other party.

A further announcement will be made in due course.
