                     NOTIFICATION OF INTERIM & Q2 RESULTS

IQE, the leading 'pure play' outsource supplier of custom epiwafers to the
compound semiconductor industry, will be announcing its Interim and 2nd
quarter results for the period ending 30 June 2001, on Wednesday 22 August
2001.

A  meeting will be held for analysts on Wednesday 22 August 2001 at 09.30 a.m.
at Buchanan Communications, 107 Cheapside, London EC2.  There will be a press
briefing at the same venue at 11.30 a.m.
