The Company has been notified on 24 January 2007 that Cazenove Capital
Management Limited had a notifiable interest of 30,148,000 ordinary 1p shares in
IQE, equivalent to 7.01% of the issued share capital of the Company. The
interest arises as a result of Cazenove Capital Management Limited managing
these shares as an authorised investment manager.


This announcement is in accordance with the Transparency Directive new
