                               ADDITIONAL LISTING

Application has today been made to the London Stock Exchange for 30,240 ordinary
shares of 1p each in the Company ('Ordinary Shares') to be admitted to trading
on AIM. These Ordinary Shares are being issued pursuant to the exercise of share
options by former employees under the IQE Employee Share Option Scheme.

Admission of these Ordinary Shares is expected to become effective on 15 January
2007.

Application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the shares to be
admitted to AIM.

Following this issue the total number of ordinary shares of 1p in issue is
430,032,727.
