                               Additional Listing



Application has today been made to the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock
Exchange for 164,564 ordinary shares of 1p each in the Company ('Ordinary
Shares') to be admitted to the Official List. 75,140 of these Ordinary Shares
are being issued to employees of IQE following the exercise of share options
under the Company's employee share option scheme and 89,424 of these Ordinary
Shares are being issued to Dr G.H.H. Ainsworth in settlement of his Chairman's
fees for the second and third quarters of 2002. Admission of all the Ordinary
Shares is expected to become effective on 9 December 2002.



Following this issue, Dr G.H.H. Ainsworth will be interested in 462,943 Ordinary
Shares, representing approximately 0.25% of the issued share capital
