Investec - investor (pre-close) briefing

Investec will be releasing its results for the six months ended 30 September
2006 on 16 November 2006. The management of Investec will host an investor
(pre-close) briefing on Thursday, 14 September 2006 commencing at 11:00 (UK
time) / 12:00 (SA time).  A presentation will be given, focusing on developments
within the core business areas and the group since Investec's year-end results.

All interested parties may attend the presentation at Investec's Johannesburg or
London offices.  For those people who are unable to attend the briefing, the
