As highlighted in our announcement on 24 August 2004, the Management of Investec
is holding an investor briefing on Wednesday, 22 September 2004 commencing at
11:00 (UK time) 12:00 (South African time). A presentation will be given,
focusing on developments within the core business areas and the group since
Investec's year-end results.


All interested parties may attend the presentation at Investec's Johannesburg,
Cape Town or London offices. Furthermore, for those people who are unable to
attend the briefing, the following options will be available:
   
  * A toll free telephone conference facility.
  * Summit TV will broadcast the presentation to all South African
    subscribers.
  * A DELAYED webcasting of the presentation will be available on the Internet
    via www.investec.com.
