As part of the dual listed company structure, Investec plc and Investec Limited
notify both the London and Johannesburg Stock Exchanges of those interests (and
changes to those interests) of (i) directors of both entities and the respective
company secretaries, (ii) persons discharging managerial responsibilities
(PDMRs) across the group, and (iii) in certain instances the directors of major
subsidiaries of Investec Limited, in the securities of Investec plc and Investec
Limited which are required to be disclosed under the Disclosure Rules of the
United Kingdom Listing Authority (the 'UKLA') and/or the JSE Listing
Requirements.

Investec plc received notification on the 29 December 2006, accordingly, we
advise of the following changes to attributable interests in the ordinary shares
of Investec plc and Investec Limited:

ATTRIBUTABLE INTERESTS IN THE ORDINARY SHARE CAPITAL OF INVESTEC PLC AND
INVESTEC LIMITED


1.  TRANSACTIONS IN INVESTEC PLC ORDINARY SHARES OF GBP0.0002 EACH.

In compliance with Rules 3.63 - 3.74 of the JSE Listing Requirements, we advise 
of the following transaction:


(a)     Dealings by a Director of Investec plc and Investec Limited - Mr.
        Stephen Koseff

Transaction notified in terms of:  DR3.1.4R(1)(a) and DR3.1.4R(1)(b)

Nature of transaction              The 41,250 shares were disposed following the
                                   exercise on the 20th December 2006 of 41,250
                                   options held in terms of the Investec plc
                                   Share Option Plan 2002. The date of grant for
                                   these options was the 20th December 2002 with
                                   an exercise price of ZAR1.59. Following this
                                   notification, Mr Koseff holds options over
                                   41,250 ordinary shares in Investec plc in
                                   terms of the above plan and options over
                                   750,000 ordinary Investec plc shares in terms
                                   of The Investec Share Matching Plan 2005.
