Ideal Shopping Direct Plc (the 'Company' or 'Ideal Shopping Direct')

Further to announcements made on 7 March and 16 March 2001 which stated that a
fire had destroyed the Company's TV studio, offices and warehouse, the
directors are pleased to report that the Company's insurers have accepted full
liability.  A first interim payment of £5 million has been received and
discussions with the insurers are continuing in respect of further interim
payments.

A limited service in respect of the Ideal World home shopping channel and the
catalogue business has been resumed.
