AGM Statement

Ideal Shopping Direct PLC 28 May 2004 IDEAL SHOPPING DIRECT PLC AGM STATEMENT The following statement will be read by the Chairman, Jim Hodkinson at the AGM of the Company to be held today at noon: "We have started the first four months of 2004 by seeing a sales growth of 26%, which is in accordance with our expectations on a like for like basis compared to 2003. On April 23rd 2004, the company began transmitting Ideal World, our live shopping channel, on Freeview, which has expanded our potential audience by an estimated 3.5 million homes. Our carriage agreement with Crown Castle to broadcast on Freeview consolidates our presence on all the broadcast platforms and the Company is now ideally positioned to take full advantage of the digital switchover in the coming months and years. There are an estimated 26 million homes in the UK. Ideal now can be accessed by approximately 12 million homes that now have direct access to digital television. Whilst we have only been broadcasting to this new Freeview audience for a very few weeks, we are pleased that the rate we are attracting new customers is better than our internal projections. We are, however, cautious about the short-term impact on earnings from Freeview, but remain fully optimistic about this strategic development. We will be better placed to give a comprehensive update when we report our performance for the first six months at the interim stage. Our previously reported positive performance in the key operational areas of buying, warehouse and call centre continues to improve whilst we continue to focus on costs."
