                           VOTING RIGHTS AND CAPITAL

In accordance with DTR 6.1.9R of the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules
(the 'Rules'), International Biotechnology Trust plc (the 'Company') hereby
announces changes to the Company's total voting rights following the recent
issue of C Shares as follows:

The total number of voting rights in the Company is 71,842,900.



The above figure 71,842,900 may be used by shareholders as the denominator for
the calculations by which they will determine if they are required to notify

their interest in, or a change to their interest in, the Company's total voting
rights under the Rules.
