Portfolio Update

The Board of International Biotechnology Trust plc (the "Company") notes a follow on investment in the US based unquoted portfolio company Lux Biosciences ("Lux").

On Friday, 16 October 2009, the Company invested £112k ($181k) into Lux, as part of a $48.2m Series B financing. Lux is a drug discovery company focused on ophthalmic diseases. This further investment brings the total invested cost to £1.0m and current value to £1.1m.
