Intec Telecom Systems PLC - appointment of Senior Non-executive Director



London, 5 April 2004 - The Board of Intec Telecom Systems PLC ("Intec") is
pleased to announce that with immediate effect it has named Roger McDowell as
its Senior Non-executive Director, a position recommended by the Combined Code
of Corporate Governance for UK listed companies. Mr McDowell originally joined
the Intec board as a non-executive director in September 2002.



Intec Executive Chairman Mike Frayne said: "This appointment recognises Roger's
considerable expertise in running a public company, as well as his personal
commitment to Intec as an independent non-executive director and shareholder.
Roger's experience of growing a business to a substantial size, as well as his
understanding of the needs of companies developing through both organic and
acquisition-driven growth, is invaluable to us."



Mr. McDowell is a non-executive director of  Oystertec PLC, Booth Industries
Group plc and the former CEO of Oliver Ashworth Group plc. Since leaving this
role in 2000 he has held several appointments as non-executive Chairman and
non-executive Director of venture capital funded companies in a range of
industries.
