The new system will handle billing for MTN's South Africa operation, which has over 7.7 million pre and post-paid subscribers. "Winning a prestigious, tier one wireless operator like MTN in a very competitive market is great news for Intec, because it underlines our status as a major player in the OSS/BSS market globally," said Intec CEO Kevin Adams. " Singl.eView's next-generation technology is a strong fit for a fast-growing major operator in a developing market, because it allows it to bring new services quickly to market, and its performance and scalability fits well with growth plans and cost-effective operations." "I'm personally delighted that our first major new Singl.eView customer is MTN," added Intec's South Africa born Executive Chairman, Mike Frayne. "Intec has always been successful in Africa, but this is a high profile win that confirms Singl.eView as the right solution for the billing upgrade, legacy replacement and consolidation projects that many operators worldwide are now beginning." "This is a key project for MTN that will support our very high growth rates, provide a superior customer billing experience, and reduce our cost of technology ownership," said MTN SA's Billing Programme Director, Megan Ashman. " We chose Singl.eView as our new strategic billing platform for its outstanding technology and as a result of Intec's long-term presence, commitment and investment in Africa." MTN and Intec have started work immediately on the implementation of Singl.eView, with Intec providing support and services through its substantial South Africa office.
