Transaction in Own Shares

Impax Environmental Markets plc announces that it has purchased
50,000 of its own ordinary shares in the market at a price of 104.00p
per share. These shares will be held in Treasury.

Following this share re-purchase, the Company's issued share capital
will be 305,843,288 ordinary shares.  The Company will be holding
766,505 of these shares in Treasury.  Therefore, the total number of
ordinary shares with voting rights in the Company will be
305,076,783.
