The Company has today received the following notification from UBS Investment
Bank dated 24 December 2003:

'Section 198 Companies Act 1985

Pursuant to Section 198 of the Companies Act 1985, we write to inform you that
as at the close of business on 23rd December 2003, UBS Investment Bank,
('UBS-IB'), a business group of UBS AG, had an interest in 1,073,217 Ordinary
Shares of IMPAX Group, representing 3.024 per cent of the issued share capital
of the Company.

These interests are held by UBS-IB as beneficial owner in the ordinary course of
its trading activities.'
