IMAGE SCAN HOLDINGS PLC ANNOUNCES FIRST EXPORT ORDER FOR NEWLY LAUNCHED MDXI R&D
INSPECTION SYSTEM
Image Scan Holdings plc (AIM: IGE), a provider of leading real-time multi-view,
3D X-ray imaging solutions for the industrial and security inspection markets,
today confirmed the first overseas order for its recently launched industrial
inspection system, the MDXI.
Sold to a major supplier within the automotive sector based in the US, the
system allows for the detailed one-off, or small batch, 3D inspection of
products. The MDXI range of products has been specifically designed for the
needs of R&D departments and pilot plant production within major manufacturers.
Nicholas Fox, Chief Executive of Image Scan Holdings plc, commented:
'Having delivered the first prototype in September 2004 and launched the system
in February 2005, we are delighted by the speed of the confirmation of this
subsequent sale for an MDXI system. We believe that the order marks a
significant step forward in establishing our 3D based X-ray solutions within the
automotive sector, a sector that represents an important target for our company
within the industrial inspection market.'
Featuring application specific software, Image Scan's MDXI range provides
detailed, two and three dimensional data and structural information on concealed
objects for analysis by R&D, quality control and production departments,
achieving levels of detail that cannot be matched by conventional 2D X-ray
systems on the market.
This latest order for industrial inspection equipment - in excess of USD 150,000
- follows Image Scan's announcement in December 2004 of a £600,000 order from
Johnson Matthey for a major industrial inspection system, that order having
followed an original request from the same company for a stand-alone laboratory
based system.

Note to editor
The MDXI range is a range of turnkey units designed to meet the requirements of
one-off or small batch inspections. Instead of being an in-line conveyor based
system, the units employ a 2 axis platen to manoeuvre an object through the
inspection process. All units in the MDXI range feature Image Scan's proprietary
3DX-Cameras(TM).
