          IG Group appoints Steve Clutton as Finance Director


IG Group Holdings plc ('IG' or 'IG Group' or 'the Group') is pleased to announce
that Steve Clutton will be joining the Group Board as Finance Director with
effect from 2 October 2006. The appointments of Tim Howkins as CEO and Nat le
Roux as deputy non-executive chairman will also be effective at the same time.

During his career, Steve, aged 45, has held a number of senior financial and
corporate finance roles in a range of companies including quoted and venture
capital backed businesses. Most recently, Steve was the Finance Director of UK
Retail Banking with Barclays Bank plc. Steve is a chartered accountant and has a
first class degree in Chemistry.

Commenting on his appointment, Tim Howkins, Chief Executive Designate said:

financial sector expertise will prove particularly valuable to IG Group as it
continues to grow.'

Steve Clutton added:
