IDOX PLC 10 February 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 10 FEBRUARY 2005 IDOX plc ('IDOX') Appointment of Martin Brooks as a Non-Executive Director and Chairman Designate IDOX plc, the information and knowledge management group, is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Brooks to the Board as a Non-Executive Director effective from 9 February 2005. It is anticipated that he will assume the position of Chairman of IDOX plc at the end of April 2005 at which time John Wisbey, the current Chairman, will be standing down. Martin Brooks has spent over 25 years developing successful electronic information and publishing businesses serving professional customers. He worked at the Financial Times between 1977 and 1988. Following this, Mr Brooks became Managing Director of Extel Financial Ltd, the City Information company, when it was part of United Newspapers, now United Business Media plc, where he internationalised the business. He returned to the FT in 1993 on the FT's acquisition of Extel, when he became a member of the FT Group Management Board and founding Chief Executive of FT Information Ltd., now FT Interactive, and continued there until 1998. In this position Mr Brooks grew revenues from £60 million to £130 million in 4 years and trebled trading margins. This period included leading the highly successful acquisition of Interactive Data Corporation in the United States. FT Interactive remains the FT's worldwide and highly profitable financial information subsidiary. Mr Brooks has also been a Non-Executive Director of FTSE International and Chairman of AFX News Ltd., the English language business wire service, now owned by Agence France-Presse, the leading French news agency. More recently, he has held a number of consultancy and interim assignments, as well as chairing the publishing arm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales until 2002.
