New Contracts Awarded by MoD

Hunting PLC 17 December 1999 SUCCESS FOR HUNTING DEFENCE Hunting PLC announces the following news from it Defence Division: IRVIN AEROSPACE Irvin Aerospace has been awarded a 5 year contact valued at around £15M by the UK Ministry of Defence (UK MoD) for the provision of Logistics Support Services for Airborne Forces Equipment. The company will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, re-packing, storage and transportation to and from service users of all man-carrying and supply dropping parachutes in use with the United Kingdom's Airborne Forces. HUNTING ENGINEERING The UK MoD has awarded Shorts Missile Systems (SMS) a contract worth £200M for the supply of high velocity Starstreak missiles to the British Army over a five year period. Hunting Engineering (HEL) will manufacture the launch tubes for Starstreak in a contract worth over £7M. The assembly of the first Hellfire II and Longbow Hellfire missiles has been completed, under HEL's £300M prime contract from UK MoD for the supply, procurement and certification of munitions for the Apache attack helicopter. The Hellfire missile components and sub-assemblies have been supplied by Lockheed Martin in Orlando and assembled at Shorts Missile Systems facility in Belfast. After testing in the USA. They will be delivered to the British Army in June 2000, with completion of deliveries at the end of 2003.
