Notifications for the purposes of sections 198-203 Companies Act 1985

The Company has received notification pursuant to Section 198 of the Companies
Act 1985, that at the close of business on 9 September 2004, Morley Fund
Management Limited (a subsidiary of Aviva plc), had an interest in 22,610,602
ordinary shares of MFI Furniture Group plc (3.64 per cent of the issued share
capital) following sales totalling 6,650,000 ordinary shares on 9 September
2004.

The Company has also received notification pursuant to Section 198 of the
Companies Act 1985, that on 10 September 2004, Legal & General Group plc had an
interest in 20,769,308 ordinary shares of MFI Furniture Group plc (3.34 per cent
of the issued share capital).
