Ian Peacock Appointed as Non-executive Director

MFI Furniture Group Plc is pleased to announce the appointment of Ian Peacock,
52, as a non-executive director with effect from 1 January 2000.

Commenting, MFI's Chief Executive, John Hancock, said

'Ian, who is currently Special Adviser to the Domestic Finance Division of the
Bank of England and an adviser to Lombard Management, has over 30 years
experience in financial markets and my colleagues and I are delighted that he
has agreed to join us.'

Ian, who is also a non-executive director of Norwich and Peterborough Building
Society, will also serve on the MFI Audit, Remuneration and Nomination
Committees.
