Notifications for the purposes of sections 198-203 Companies Act 1985

The Company has received notifications pursuant to Section 198 of the Companies
Act 1985 ('the Act'), that at the close of business on 2nd December 2005:

-          BriTel Fund Nominees Limited (the owner of Hermes Pensions Management
Limited), both directly and indirectly, had a notifiable interest in 62,241,896
10 pence ordinary shares of MFI Furniture Group Plc (9.922 per cent of the
issued share capital); and

-          within this holding, Hermes Focus Asset Management Limited and Hermes
SLP Limited (subsidiaries of Hermes Pensions Management Limited) had a
notifiable interest in 44,446,246 10 pence ordinary shares of MFI Furniture
Group Plc (7.085 per cent of the issued share capital).
