We hereby notify you that we were advised on 27 December 2002, Matthew Ingle an
executive director of MFI Furniture Group Plc (the 'Company') purchased 9,320
ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the Company ('the Shares) at a price of
106.5 per Share. Mr. Ingle's holding in the Company now stands at 154,778 Shares
(prior to this transaction, 145,458 Shares), such notification having been given
in accordance with Section 324 of the Companies Act 1985.
